Grad season is here!
As Iβve mentioned, the seasons they do come fast and furious. No matter how many times it happens, Iβm always surprised. Especially when it involves other people I know and their young ones.

I met Jaredβs parents wayyyyy back in 1999, when his mom Natalie and I were in our first year of Education at U of R. Yes, you read that right, I was enrolled in Education, not just Education, but FRENCH Education in the BAC program at University of Regina. It was a rather foolish pursuit, and even my mother, who had been a career educator (and a good one at that, not just by my account but by many of her students) had suggested when I enrolled that perhaps I should keep my options open. But I was adamant. Until about 1/2 way through that one year and I realized βWaitaminit, I canβt TEACH kids!!
Fear? Probably. But with that said, it was just the first in a series of decisions that made me make the jump to pursuing fine arts instead of teaching. It still took me a hot minute to get to photography, specifically, but Natalie and Jeff and I remained in contact and Iβve had a couple of chances to capture their family.
I do enjoy coming to visit them - I donβt get to see them often as they live up north, but sometimes when passing through for work or on the way to/from our family cabin, we have a chance to stop by. And each time, I need to take a knee when I start doing the math on the fact that their eldest is GRADUATING from HIGH SCHOOL.
Hard to believe these three were barely even a sparkle in their parents eyes so far back when I played piano at their wedding! Sorry, I need to take a knee againβ¦. here, look at some more pretty picturesβ¦
